Zentrip 31

As I look up at the night sky through the bare branches of the roadside trees I see starlight and feel deep time.

Zentrip 30

This mix is all about the ambient house thing, that slightly blue feeling. For me its all about those Submotion Orchestra, Karma Kid and We Cut Corners remixes.

Zentrip 27

Pretty mellow one. A lovely How to Dress Well remix by Koreless, a track off the Japanese version of Little Dragon's first album. Ends on a different vibe, a wonderful Low track, one of my favourite bands and ends with an epic psychedelic Carlton Melton track.

Starts of laid back then goes deep with a lot of help from the D thanks to Moodymann and Theo Parrish, you know how it is. Those Shigeto and Meesha tracks!

Acid Groove

This acid mix is for my friend Jess who celebrated her 30th at Easter. Some classic acid sounds including some Twin Peaks techno!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

...and then again - Spring Jazz

Considering how much I listen to jazz I don't upload much here so I put something together for Spring. I'm just going to keep it simple except to say that there's some great stuff here, perfect for a sunny Sunday, particularly the last 14 minute epic.
Highlights include:

Elvin Jones - walking bassline and drum solo
Ahmad Jamal - great recording of the drums
Pharoah Saunders - stone cold classic
Bobby Hutcherson - great vibes, inspired Madlib, two tracks of the expansive Head On album
Nathan Davis - that groove ain't no joke
Les McCann - so much feeling, emotive strings
Motherless Child - one of the best recordings ever. Dwight Trible's singing is the most emotive, soul-wrenching, joyful thing. The bass solo is also fantastic.

Zentrip 24

Atmospheric, cinematic, slightly chasing-the-dragon-round-the-inside-of-a-cathedral beats, drums, basslines and widescreen synth laden experience with some psychedelic guitar thrown in for good measure. Check the Meesha track, those synths and keys bring me joy every time I hear it. Sterling Thrones is also a bit masterful. Then there's Valis and to finish off one of the most epic soundtrack songs ever made.
