Modern Marvel

This is all about the best kind of hip hop there is. It starts with a bit of 90s acid jazz type business including, yes that Digable Planet classic and the first of a spoken word centred track. After that, Erykah, Kelis, Gang Starr, Nas, Common and Marvin (see what I mean?!). Some beautiful poetry from Saul Williams and Blackalicious. But the pinnacle is the two Mos Def tracks, off one of most underrated albums of recent times, The New Danger; the sweet flow of Sunshine and the epic Modern Marvel. It samples Marvin and it is totally worthy. It ends with a guy who is leading way in future soul AND is from London! Enjoy it, I have.
