Covers Session

I was inspired by a conversation we had at work about the Easy Star All Stars covers albums so I put together some covers I've got.

1. Pleasure Beach - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana)
Hammond organ wonder

2. Lord Sitar - I Am The Walrus (The Beatles)
Does what it says on the tin

3. Mongo Santamaria - Green Onions (Booker T and the MGs)
More organ delights

4. Creedence Clearwater Revival - The Night Time is the Right Time (Ray Charles)
The Dude would be proud

5. King Curtis - Whole Lotta Love (Led Zep)
The amazing King Curtis on Sax, from the live album

6. John Schroeder - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag (James Brown)
The organ keeps coming back

7. Creative Source - Who Is He and What Is He To You (Bill Withers)
A classic cover of a classic song, so good the full 11 minute version is here.

8. Hot 8 Brass Band - Sexual Healing (Marvin Gaye)
A brilliantly fun cover!

9. D'Angelo - Get Up, Sex Machine (James Brown)
And who's that on vocals? Tom Jones what?!

10. Prince - Ain't No Sunshine (Bill Withers)
The funk is definately here, listen to that Larry Graham bass!

11. Amp Fiddler - Too High (Stevie Wonder)
From Prince's former keyboardist. Produced by Detroit master Carl Craig.

12. Lewis Taylor - Everyone Here Wants You (Jeff Buckley)
The great British Soul man covers a great song.

13. Waldeck - This Isn't Maybe (Chet Baker - This is Always)
Chilled out bass line.

14. Nostalgia 77 ft. Alice Russell - Seven Nation Army (Grant Phabao Remix)
Dub Reggae from a great collaboration

15. Jay Mitchell - Mustang Sally (Mack Rice)
You'll definately know the Wilson Pickett version. This 13 minute monster is my
all time favourite cover, what an extended bass and drums performance.Let the
drummer ride!!
